Latpanchar offers a quiet introduction to the forested landscapes of the Darjeeling Hills, with rich birdlife, mountain scenery and a network of trails and hides to explore.
Over four days, we will spend our mornings and afternoons in the field, looking for the birds that inhabit these forests while allowing enough time for observation and photography.

A Different Pace of Birding
Birding Trails is about more than collecting a checklist.
We believe the best moments in the field often come when we slow down—when we listen to a distant call, wait for a bird to emerge from the canopy, or simply spend a few quiet minutes watching the forest come alive.
Our trails are designed around that experience.
Observe. Photograph. Explore.
Bring Your Camera. Bring Your Patience.
The forests of Latpanchar can offer rewarding opportunities for bird photography, but the best moments are rarely predictable.
We encourage photographers to come prepared for early mornings, changing light, patient observation and the occasional unexpected encounter.
✔ Long telephoto lens
✔ Spare batteries & memory cards
✔ Rain protection
✔ Binoculars
✔ Camera support / beanbag
✔ Comfortable field clothing
We believe wildlife photography should never come at the cost of the subject.
Throughout the trail we follow responsible birding practices:
❌ No chasing.
❌ No baiting.
❌ No unnecessary playback.
❌ No disturbance to nesting birds.
✔ Respect for habitats and local communities.
The photograph is secondary to the experience of seeing the bird in its natural environment.
You don’t need to be an expert birder. Curiosity, patience and an interest in being outdoors are enough.
